Carmelo & Eunice’s Pre-Nup at La Mesa Eco Park

We had a pre-nup shoot at La Mesa Eco Park in Quezon City yesterday, the groom, Carmelo (Karmi’s brother) flew in from the States to exchange vows with Eunice.

The wedding will be held on 29th June 2008, 6PM at The Gazebo Royale in Quezon City.

A Year After

It was June 1, 2007 when I first covered a wedding professionally, now, after a year, I’ve covered a total of 22 weddings, 1 50th wedding anniversary & 3 pre-nup shoots. All of these were as “contracted labor,” looking back, the experience had made me better & molded into (what I think to be) a better photographer.

It was raining hard in Tagaytay City early morning of Sunday, May 25, 2008, not the best weather for garden wedding. But this beautiful couple, Romar & Karen was very confident that God will hear their prayers.

God really answers prayer, the rain stopped a few minutes before Romar & Karen exchanged their vows at Tagaytay Tropical Greens Clubhouse.

Parade of the Marching Bands

The highlight of the festivities of the Bacoor Town Fiesta is the Parade of the Marching Bands, 9 local bands & 5 bands from the neighboring municipalities marched & display their skills along the Evangelista St. of the Town of Bacoor.

Anak Zapote Band, if I’m not mistaken the oldest band in Bacoor.

Banda 96, is one of the 2 pioneer band in Bacoor.

D’ Original Band was formed in honor of the late Prof. Hilarion F. Rubio, a native of Digman, Bacoor, Cavite.

Family Band (as I heard) is the newest band in town.

Banda 1 of Gov. P.F. Espiritu, one of the 4 bands coming from Barangay Panapaan.

Banda 8, another band coming from Bgy. Panapaan.

San Lorenzo Ruiz Band from Barangay Aniban, Bacoor.

St. Michael’s Band also from Panapaan.

The pioneer band from Panapaan, Bacoor, the El Gobernador Band.

Now the bands from the neighboring municipalities:

Banda 74 from Kawit, Cavite.

Banda San Roque of Silang, Cavite.

Banda Sta. Monica of Tanza, Cavite.

Banda 93 of Silang Cavite.

And the Rosarian Band from Rosario, Cavite.

The best Marching Band was judged after the parade together with the best Marching Majorette, Best Drum Major & Baton Twirling Contest. The contest were only opened to the 5 guest bands, Bacoor’s Town Mayor, Hon. Edwin “Strike” Revilla was there to witness the activity & award the winners with prizes.

Karakol 2008 @ Bacoor, Cavite

We were commissioned to cover this years Bacoor Town Fiesta, it’s a 2 day celebration from 10 to 11 May 2008. May 10 is the Karakol (Street dancing), it is when devotees of St. Michael the Archangel & the Blessed Mother of the Rosary dance on the street as praise & thanksgiving to their Patrons.

May 11 is the Town Fiesta where the highlight of the events is the Parade of the Marching Bands, this year, 13 bands will be marching the town’s Evangelista Street. I’ll post the photos next time

Living by Water: Photo Exhibit by Ferdinand Decena

Living By Water is Ferdinand Decena’s First One-man show exhibit, this will be held on May 12-27, 2008 at Filipinas Heritage Library in Ayala Triangle, Makati City (just across the [in]famous Manila Peninsula).

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
From time immemorial, civilizations have thrived and lived near bodies of water. The reason is crystal-clear: water is vital to man’s existence. It is the reason why this exhibition pays homage to water and its significance to how and why people live by the water. Featuring photos that tell stories about the coastal Filipinos’ living conditions, reveal their culture, and relate their stories of survival.

The exhibit will carry a raft of striking images from across our archipelago. The Badjao Stilt Villages of Basilan. The Muslim Stilt Village of Rio Hondo in Zamboanga. The fishermen of Siquijor. The T’bolis of Lake Sebu. The rugged shores of Itbayat in Batanes. And the tranquil coasts of Iloilo.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Ferdinand is a travel photographer and award-winning blogger. A graduate of Fine Arts, Major in Advertising at the Far Eastern University, he got started on film photography during his college years. He worked as a graphic artist and web designer for three years, pursuing photography as a hobby.

Landing his first publication job as an Art Director enabled him to embark on a new career ? as a professional travel photographer. Getting his fair share of freelance jobs and assignments, his works eventually got published in a number of travel magazines both here and overseas.

His website Ironwulf.net: En Route at www.ironwulf.net, is the chronicle of his many travels and insightful photography. It has received recognition from the both local and international media.

With eager eyes, a curious mind and wandering feet, this young travel photographer and blogger plans to do an exhibit on Asian Heritage sites in the near future.
